Guild - 1965 F-212 - 12-String Acoustic Guitar - Natural - AS IS
This 1965 Guild F‑212 12‑String Acoustic Guitar, is a classic American acoustic and widely regarded as one of the finest post‑war 12‑strings ever made. Featuring a spruce top with mahogany back and sides and finished in natural lacquer, it delivers a big, warm, and brilliantly ringing tone with excellent clarity.
The guitar features a wide mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard and Guild’s distinctive dual truss rod system, offering strength and stability while remaining comfortable to play. Early‑era details include a slightly radiused fingerboard with side dots only, multi‑ply body binding, a large rosewood bridge, and a Guild‑style tortoise pickguard.
A defining instrument of the 1960s folk and rock era, the F‑212 remains a benchmark 12‑string to this day.
This instrument has had a few top cracks professionally repaired, mainly under the oversized replacement pickguard, and another between the soundhole and the neck. The top has been oversprayed or refinished, but the finish on the back sides and neck is original.
This instrument has a few issues, resulting in its as-is status:
* A Neck Reset is needed for optimal playing action
* The bridge has been shaved down in a previous effort to get the action lower and is quite thin
* The current saddle has a flat top and would need to be replaced
This Hoboken New Jersey-made Guild is a great candidate for restoration and will have the classic big sound only a Guild can once it's back in tip-top shape!
