The 85/15 “S” pickups are paired with a PRS-Designed AS-01 Single Coil “S” pickup in the middle position. The AS-01 Single Coil combines alnico and steel, adding mass to the pickups and creating a powerful sound. With a push-pull tone control and a 3-way pickup switch, this setup provides a wide range of sounds, while PRS’s patented tremolo adds further versatility. The overall tone of the SE Swamp Ash Special offers tight lows, bright yet mellow highs, and a distinctive twang, making it suitable for genres like "hot country," blues, and even jazz.
