Suiko - 1980's ST-100 - Japanese Synthesizer - w/Case And PS - x1654 - VINTAGE
Features:
Tones - The ST-100 has 15 voice options + an additional 13 percussive sounds. From mimicking traditional Japanese instruments to fat synth pads. Very cool.
The unit can be switched between monophonic or polyphonic. This is so lovely and unusual playing chords in the Japanese Koto scale.
All tones are very lovely, warm and analog sounding!
Octave switch - There is a switch to raise the register up and down an octave which is useful for recording bass and lead lines.
Register Select - The middle longest slider is to shift the key register up and down, giving you the option to solo your favourite scales over any key you like. It also allows you to create even higher or lower register notes than the octave switch allows which gives you even more variation on the tones.
Sustain - There is a sustain switch to toggle between a short pluck sound or a long drawn out release.
Volume Dial - A sweeping volume dial located at the bottom left of the unit.
Fine tuning - There is a small dial on the bottom left which seems to slightly alter the pitch in quarter tone increments, this is really unusual and almost gives you a 'Microtonal' quality to the performance. There is a button to the right of the dial which will add a lovely vibrato to the notes you're playing as you hold it down.
Speaker - The speaker goes very loud and sounds lovely.
Output - There is a mini-jack output for the speaker built into the case, a line out and a mono headphone output. You can use the line out to plug directly into your recording setup. The speaker case has its own cable which connects directly into the speaker output so you wont need to find a cable.
Sequencer - You can record a sequence of notes using the selected instrument voice (or percussion) and then play it back whilst playing along to your recording using another voice.
The button with the red LED is record and button with green LED is play. You hold both down to start recording.
The button to the right of play the play is the stop button.
and the next button over plays the mantra melody for performance introduction.
